Gorilla Pod

I first encountered the Gorilla Pod at a Maker Faire several years back and purchased two or three on the spot. Joby makes them in various sizes ranging from the small compact camera to the larger digital SLR, so there is one that will fit your camera type.

As awesome and cool as this is, I’ve found that I tend to forget to carry it around with me. All the times I’ve wanted to take photos from a strange angle or up a tree, I’ve left my Gorilla Pod at home. Oops!

I am sure there are people less forgetful than me!

  • I totally forgot to take mine camping with me this weekend - the most logical place to bring this thing! It would have useful for taking the "stragglers" group pick in the end, but instead I stacked a few rocks to get a vaguely level surface of the right height.
